John Carpenter brings Stephen King's best-selling novel to life in this chilling thriller. She was born in Detroit... on an automobile assembly line. But she is no ordinary automobile. Deep within her chassis lives an unholy presence. She is CHRISTINE - a red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury whose unique standard equipment includes an evil, indestructible vengeance that will destroy anyone in her way. She seduces 17-year-old Arnie Cunningham (Keith Gordon), who becomes consumed with passion for her sleek, rounded, chrome-laden body. She demands his complete and unquestioned devotion and when outsiders seek to interfere, they become the victims of Christine's horrifying wrath.

Arnie is hen-pecked by his parents and bullied at school when he buys a beat up Plymouth Fury the owner says is called Chritine. Arnie starts to fix up the car and his family and friends notice that Arnie's personality is changing. He is becoming more assertive and he is more than obsessed with the car. When strange things begin to happen with the car, Arnie's friend Dennis and Arnie's new girlfriend Leigh believe the car is to blame. They must find a way to destroy the car but Arnie and especially Christine are going to make that difficult. Includes deleted scenes, Commentary with Director John Carpenter and Keith Gordon and three featurettes (Christine: Ignition; Christine: Fast and Furious; Christine: Finish Line).

Keith Gordon, John Stockwell, Harry Dean Stanton. A nerdy student harassed by his classmates becomes obsessed with his new 1958 Plymouth Fury-and vice versa. Directed by John Carpenter. 1983
