We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers who keep us going year after year. We truly appreciate you shopping with us. We look forward to serving you in 2008 and beyond. We will be adding lots of new and exciting bands, and new merchandise for bands we currently carry in 2008. The last day we will be accepting new orders will be on December 10th. Our shopping cart will not function after that day until we reopen again accepting orders. It will be posted here when we are accepting orders again. We regret this decision, but feel it is the only way we can accommodate all the orders we have pending including customers waiting on backordered merchandise, and not leave anyone disappointed. We must do things such as year-end inventory, and cannot do it while we are getting new orders, and having to process orders quickly enough for Christmas delivery. Contact us with any questions regarding this. We will function as normal after the 10th, but just won't be taking new orders until we reopen the shopping cart. Thank you. Happy Holidays.

Due to the United States Postal Service going up with it's postal rates, we had to slightly increase our shipping charges to accommodate the increase in price. Our shopping cart is configured in real time with the postal service, so the price will reflect the weight of the item[s] you order, and it's destination. Thank you for your understanding.

Our shopping cart is now back up and running, and we are ready to take new orders. We will have a ton of new items going up on our website. Keeping checking on our new items page.
In other news, the USPS's rates have now changed, and are going up on their shipping charges. This increase will take place on January 8th. This will affect us, as we use the USPS's services, but not dramatically.

Due to the volume of orders we have received due to the holiday rush, we are not accepting any new orders at this time. We have to do year-end inventory as well. It will be posted here when we are accepting new orders again. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. Thanks to all customers who placed an order with us after the Hurricane Katrina tragedy. It really helped lift our spirits even though we still have a lot of work ahead of us. We will continue working on orders that were placed on or before 12-15. Happy Halloween from RMU. Thanks to everyone who has supported us during these rough times of recovering from Hurricane Katrina. We look forward to becoming even stronger after the recovery for our customers. We have a new company we are working with to improve accuracy of shipments to customers. As always, we are working on new ways to improve our service.

Please know the following before placing an order:
Our website is not exactly up to date on what is in stock. If it says STATUS: IN STOCK, or followed by a size for apparel, it most likely isn't. We lost thousands of dollars worth of apparel in the flood waters, so if it was in stock before the hurricanes, it is no longer. We must order it for you, so please allow 1-3 weeks for delivery. If the item you order happens to be in stock, it will ship within 1-5 business days. We are getting in new stock daily. If the item happens to be an out of print item we can no longer restock, we will let you know, so you can pick another item. We are in the process of updating and removing not in stock items from the website.

We are now accepting orders again and our shopping cart is now activated. Our normal home page is here. We wanted to wait until the website was fully updated before taking orders again, but we had too many requests and we are in need of income, as we have none right now. We lost thousands of dollars from home and business, and thousands more for evacuation costs, so we need all the orders we can get. We are asking that you allow 1-3 weeks for delivery, as we are not at 100% normal operation yet. You can check the order status page to find out about your order at anytime. Orders that were placed before the hurricane are starting to ship. More refund checks are being sent out by mail. We should be able to reactivate our shopping cart by next week to start accepting orders again. We are in the process of working on the website, including adding our new fall catalog online. We are also in the process of removing items that are no longer going to be available due to the hurricane such as out of print items we can no longer restock.

Refund checks are being sent out by mail to those who chose to be refunded that way. Refunds by credit card, debit card and e-check are in the works. You should get an e-mail notifying you of the refund, if you provided one when you placed an order on our website. You can check on the status of your refund whenever you'd like by e-mail. Nearly all packing supply items are now in stock. E-mails are caught up with to normal day status. We have limited amounts of merchandise in stock. UPS and FedEx are running a day or two behind due to many road closures, including some of the main hubs not being operational. The main UPS hub located by us is the New Orleans, Louisiana one, and it is not operational at this time. They must go through Jackson, Mississippi, so that puts UPS behind with deliveries. Hurricane Rita, the new hurricane, may close down some main roadways due to high winds, causing even further delay. By Monday though, we should be able to start shipping orders again via the USPS. We would like to thank all of our customers who have been so patient during this tough time. E-mail us with any questions you may have. Check back soon for further updates.

Packing supplies are being reordered. A list is being compiled of those who need refunds. Order cancellations are taking place by customer's requests. E-mails are still being checked, gone through, and replied to. We are not accepting new orders yet. New stock is on the way to us.

We are in the process of sending out e-mails to current customers so they are aware of our situation. We are reordering new stock from our suppliers. Those who are in need of refunds for orders, hang in there. We will get to you. If you only received a partial shipment, we will either send what we owe you when it comes in, or let you get a refund for the unshipped portion.

-Hurricane Damage Info from August 29th's Hurricane Katrina

Rock Merch Universe has received flood waters nearly up to the roof of the building due to storm surge and flooding rain after getting hit by the western eyewall of Hurricane Katrina here in Louisiana. We are located across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans, Louisiana. Lake Pontchartrain's storm surge pushed on both the north and south shorelines and a great deal inland on both sides. Bridges connecting the north and south shores were completely washed away. Our area also suffered tree damage and downed power lines among other things. Many tornadoes touched down during the hurricane, leaving some homes with nothing but a foundation and a large pile of debris. Fish and other wildlife from Lake Pontchartrain and the Gulf Of Mexico washed ashore. Survivors from the storm who stayed and did not evacuate or stay in a shelter had to be rescued from roof tops by helicopter and the ones who were not rescued had to resort to breaking in homes (what was left of them) and find whatever food and survival items they could find. They looted nearby department and grocery stores. Not all people were lucky enough to survive and our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families.

For those of you who have not heard Caliban yet, take the time to. You will be glad you did. We added some new Caliban merch in our Caliban store. Check out some really nice designs. If you are a fan of metalcore you
will enjoy Caliban. In other news, if you have not had chance to check out our Slipknot shoes and skateboard decks, check them out. They make great gifts, and the decks are a great collectible, even if you are not a skater. Check those out in the Slipknot store.

Just a quick note that the new release CD/DVD page was updated. Look for these titles and more to be made available for pre-order online. The current RMU spotlight band is "The Black Maria". Check them out when you get a chance. You can pre-order their new CD here.

December 09, 2004 - Passing Of A Metal Pioneer - "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott - 1966 - 2004
Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, who was tragically killed during a concert this week. He was a true inspiration to many musicians, and he will live forever through his music. It is a shock to the metal community. He will be missed by many. The legacy he created through his music will be enjoyed by current fans, and many more to come. We can be thankful we had the privilege of hearing the great music he created.

November 24, 2004 - Happy Holidays from RMU!
Just a quick thank you to all of our wonderful customers for making 2004 another stellar year for RMU. Because of you, our company is growing rapidly. We look forward to serving up the best products in band merchandising in 2005 and beyond. We are working on ways to improve our service, and will continue to as long as we are in business. We want to wish all a happy holiday season and a prosperous new year!

September 03, 2004 - A Perfect Circle to release new collection of songs.
We have been working closer with a lot of the indie labels, and will continue to. You will notice a lot bands we are adding are more underground than the mainstream bands we carried when we first started out. We support indie music, as that is where it all starts, and there are a lot of really good bands that no fans get to hear, because they are not heavily promoted as bands are on major labels tend to be with radio, TV, etc. In band news, A Perfect Circle will release a collection of songs about war, peace, love and greed, and will be titled "eMOTIVe." It will be releasing on Election Day, November 2nd, 2004. Look for new CDs from Shadows Fall, The Used, Green Day, and AFI coming soon. Stay tuned for more.

June 23, 2004 - Creed calls it quits, Alter Bridge and Scott Stapp is formed.
Creed, one of the best modern rock bands of the past 7 years, officially called it quits recently. A new band was formed of former Creed members with a new singer titled "Alter Bridge." Mark Tremonti and Scott Phillips picked up former Creed bassist Brian Marshall and singer Myles Kennedy. The album titled "One Day Remains" will hit stores on August 10th, 2004. We will be taking pre-orders on the new CD soon. Scott Stapp, former lead singer of Creed, will release a solo CD of his own sometime in 2004. We wish him the best in his new project, as well as the other former Creed members in Alter Bridge. All rock fans should appreciate what Creed accomplished. They will be missed by many. We thank them for the quality music they have produced, and we have enjoyed listening to and will continue to listen to.

April 23, 2004 - More Store Specials Added, Breaking Benjamin - Current Spotlight Band.
We have added many more store specials and will continue to do so. We think that combining merchandise from a same band will create customers buying a combo pack to save money. We are offering shirts and CDs together for example to our customers at a fraction of the cost of the items. We have found another CD supplier in the United States to add to the ones we currently have, to better distribute CDs out to our customers. We are offering combo packs to move more CDs. We are now offering more pre-orders on CDs now that we have a another supplier for music CDs, which is located very close to us. Moving CDs is tough these days with the illegal file sharing going on, and large corporations controlling the market, because they can sell at a lower price than we can.
In band news, Breaking Benjamin is ready to promote the follow-up to "Saturate." The current title is "We Are Not Alone," and it is due out on June 29th. Drowning Pool, Kottonmouth Kings, and Flaw have new music headed your way, as well as 311's "Greatest Hits," Killswitch Engage's "The End Of Heartache" and more. February 14, 2004 - New Shipping Policy.
We have decided to restrict shipping to only North America after having many complications with international shipping. We most likely will ship internationally again in the future. We are in the need of a better international shipping service. We regret having to do this, but it is a decision we have thought over for awhile now. We apologize to all international customers we have served, and those potential international customers.

January 23, 2004 - New Year, New Excitement.
We hope everyone is having a good new year. Now that the holidays are behind us, we are kicking things into high gear. We will be introducing Screamline apparel soon. Due to the popularity of the wristbands, antenna toppers and license plate frames, we will start carrying a wider inventory on those. We will also be working closer with bands to get exclusive items for our store only. Many exciting new bands on the horizon, and new CDs hitting stores in the next few months will be Killswitch Engage, Incubus, 12 Stones, Creed, Flaw, and many more. If you have not already noticed, we are installing a menu at the top of the Band and Category pages to improve our customer service, and to help the customer better navigate our website. We have included a sizing chart, among other helpful pages. We look forward to servicing many more customers this year.

December 07, 2003 - Happy Holidays from RMU.
Thanks to everyone who supported us in 2003 to become one of the top online retailers in band merchandising. We look forward to serving customers in 2004 and beyond with the best there is to offer in merchandising. We have many new bands coming in 2004, and many more exciting new products. October 08, 2003 - PRAXIS magazine, coupons for RMU customers, New CDs.
Thanks to our friends over at PRAXIS magazine, we will be giving out free issues of their rock-based magazine to larger orders that can fit a magazine in the box. We thank them for giving RMU customers a little something extra with their shipment. The current issue has the band S.T.U.N. on it, with an article on the "White Stripes", respectively, and much more.
We will giving out random coupons with special codes on them to lucky customers who purchase from us, who can redeem them on our website on their next order. They will receive a discount which will be taken off during checkout.
   New CDs hitting the shelves within the next couple months or recently released include the new Sevendust, Static-X, Korn, Level, Lo-Pro, Hatebreed, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Soundtrack, and many more.

August 21, 2003 - Authorized dealer of GHS Electrics, 2003-2004 Golden Web Award Winner.
We are now an authorized dealer of GHS Electrics and Rocktron Amps. GHS is known for their excellent strings. Look for us to carry guitar strings, more picks, guitar accessories, such as guitar cleaner, guitar cleaning cloths, guitar straps, and much more. We will also be carrying Rocktron amps. Stay tuned for that. We added a new band listing, which we are working on daily to get all of our products online. It is a very time consuming operation, as their is always a new band, and always new merch by other bands we currently carry.
We would like to thank the RMU webmaster for the incredibly hard work he does on this website. We were chosen as a winner of the 2003-2004 Golden Web Awards. We take pride in our website, and are working to improve it daily for our customers to enjoy.

July 15, 2003 - Website Is still undergoing new look, and new categories adding in.
Our website menu is getting a newer more updated look on the category pages. We are now adding in inventory on our category pages, and putting "Request This Item" by the merchandise, meaning the customer can request it to be put online, and reserve one for them. We are trying to get all of our inventory online, and we think this will speed things up, as we will add by request. We will still be adding new merchandise which isn't by request, just items we think will sell well. Clocks, Wristbands, and Backpacks are now listed online with images coming soon. A new Spineshank and Adema are 2 new CDs to look out for hitting the shelves soon.

Our website is getting a new look, which we hope will make it easier to navigate our website. We are trying to enhance our website to make your shopping as enjoyable and easy as possible. Look for a possible new logo coming soon.
In band news, new CDs hit the shelves by Finger Eleven, Staind, Cold, and many more. Audioslave, Evanescence, and many other bands rocked the annual Pinkpop Festival. Look for many new bands adding to our store soon. OTEP will be one of our featured new bands, and we will have much more Eminem merch by customers' request.

March 18, 2003 - New Navigation Bar Adding In - More Cellular Phone Merch - New Bands, Items
We are in the process of republishing all of our pages to where our new easy-navigation bar will be on top of every page. It has more links than our other bar, giving easier access when shopping. We are also adding in many new cellular items, besides carrying the phone covers. We will be listed other models than Nokia soon. Nokia seems to be the most popular phone, that's why we carry it. New bands adding in include: Ra, Acroma, Trapt, Unloco, Killswitch Engage, Bowling For Soup, and many more. Acroma will be our new featured band with the release of their debut CD on Universal Records. The Deftones have announced May 20th for the release of their highly anticipated follow-up to "White Pony." Stay tuned to RMU as we keep up our hard work and dedication to revolutionizing the merchandise industry.

January 16, 2003 - New Year, New Merchandise, New Bands, New Pages, New CDs Dropping
RMU is prepared to once again bring you the best in band merchandising for the new year. New pages were added to our store to make your shopping easier, and we will continue to do so. We added an order status page, where customers can request status of their order at any time. We added an a-z band listing, (which is in progress), a customer support page, which is almost ready, and privacy policy and release date pages. In other band news, CDs will be dropping soon from Linkin Park, Stereomud, Cinder, Oleander, (hed) p.e., Limp Bizkit, Unwritten Law, and many others. Check our release dates page for more. New bands include Insane Clown Posse, Finch, Crossbreed, Pantera, The Juliana Theory, and many more. New items coming soon include license plates, shoe laces, and antenna balls. November 29, 2002 - Tons Of New Products In Time For Christmas, With Many More On The Horizon.
Tons of new CDs and DVD are releasing during the holidays, including CDs by Pearl Jam, 3 Doors Down, Saliva, System Of A Down, Nirvana, Crazy Town, Audioslave, and many more. New DVDs releasing from Slipknot, Silverchair, Drowning Pool, P.O.D., Korn, Nickelback, and more. Rising bands of note that we are getting new merchandise by soon include Stone Sour, TRUSTcompany, Sparta, and many more. We will now being doing contests on a regular basis, where anyone making a purchase from our store, is automatically entered. The last contest we had for a prize pack from Adam Sandler's 8 Crazy Nights, and Audioslave was won by Barb Katzenmeyer from Akron, Ohio. Way to go, congratulations. We made an order for which people can e-mail to us, if they don't want to go through the checkout process. A link is found on our home page. October 21, 2002 - New Products Added + Saliva Is Back Into Your System, and Drowning Pool DVD
New products added since last update include hoodies by Blink 182, Avril Lavigne, Linkin Park, Cold, and many others. Also caps were added by Nonpoint, Cold, The Sopranos, Disturbed, Deftones, Tanric, and more. In other news, Drowning Pool is set to release a DVD, with all proceeds from the sale going to Dave Williams' family. Pick up this great DVD, and support a great cause and hear and see some great metal in stores on November 19th, entitled "Sinema". New CDs to hit in November include Pearl Jam's "Riot Act", Saliva's "Back Into Your System", 3 Doors Down's much anticipated follow up to The Better Life, "Away From The Sun", and the incredible team of Rage Against The Machine minus their old lead singer with the rock pioneer who brought you Soundgarden classics, as well as an incredible solo project, "Chris Cornell".

September 16, 2002 - New Bands added include: Avril Lavigne and Taproot. Disturbed to release the much-anticipated follow-up to "The Sickness" tomorrow. New products include bandanas, and CD and Leather Wallets

August 15, 2002 - Drowning Pool Frontman Dies At Age 30. Tons of new bands and items added. Many more bands and items coming soon, as always.
Drowning Pool's frontman was found dead on a tour bus yesterday. The cause of death is not yet known. Our condolences go out to members of Drowning Pool, and friends and family members of Dave Williams. He was a huge loss to the rock community, and will be greatly missed. In other news, we added many new bands and items to our store. You can always see what new items were added to our store by going to our New Products page. We have plenty new bands and products always coming in, keep checking back with us, and bookmark us.

July 22, 2002 - New Logo Design, New Bands Added, PC Mouse Pads Added, Trust Company Release
We unleased a new logo since our last update. New bands added include American Head Charge, Box Car Racer, and more. We added PC mouse pads to our arsenal of products, giving you one more item to collect of your band. Trust Company's CD will release tomorrow. This is a very highly anticipated CD. Their track "Downfall" was featured on a WWE program, and was a theme track for them. Chevelle's "Wonder What's Next" hits stores August 27th. That is a highly anticipated CD, after their 3 year span of 1999 with their CD "Point" #1. Stay tuned for more great news from RMU, as we grow. Thanks for visiting.

July 02, 2002 - New Products Page is now up, Dry Cell News, Glassjaw News, Korn Merch Added
We have added a New Products Page, so customers can see exactly what we add each day. Dry Cell's release date for "Disconnected" was pushed back to August 27th, 2002. Glassjaw's "Worship and Tribute" in stores on Tuesday July 9th. Korn Untouchables merch was added to our store this week.
